ORHAN BEY (1326-1359) controlled the state after the death of his father, Osman Bey. The invasion continued through the Black Sea and the Dardanelles. Byzantine Emperor Androkinos III wanted to save the besieged Iznik. However Pelakanon Battle (1329) ended with an Ottoman victory. The Emperor escaped to Istanbul and Orhan Bey took Iznik. Then captured Gemlik (1333) and Izmit (1338). He also took the control in 1341 of the Karesi tribe which had power in Anatolia.
When Ilhanli's domination disappeared from Anatolia Orhan Bey's son Suleyman Pasha captured Ankara in 1354. As consequence Ottomans became neighbours with Seldjukian heir Karamanids
